Lowell Manufacturing Company is a Pacific, Missouri-based maker of commercial and installed-sound equipment, founded in 1947 in St. Louis by Ben and Dorothy Lowell. The company built its early reputation on spun aluminum ceiling baffles — Lowell received the first design patents for them — and went on to introduce the industry's first plastic molded speaker grille in the 1950s under its Lowell Metal Works cabinet line.

The catalog spans distributed-audio gear (ceiling and pendant loudspeakers, PA horns, mixer-amplifiers, 70V transformers, volume controls, attenuators, intercoms and program selectors), 19-inch equipment racks and cabinets in floor, wall-mount, portable and desktop configurations, and AC power products including rack-mount strips, sequencers, surge protection and UPS systems. Lowell also offers custom metal fabrication out of its Pacific facility, where it added robotic manufacturing and a powder-coat paint line after relocating from Maplewood in 2000.

The brand is family-run across multiple generations of the Lowell family and is oriented toward A/V system integrators, contractors and commercial installations — schools, houses of worship, airports, convention centers, government and military projects — rather than the musician/MI market.
