Massive Unity is a Madrid, Spain-based builder of boutique guitar effects pedals, founded by session guitarist, engineer, and producer Danny Gomez alongside engineer and designer Pablo Díaz de Rada. The brand's products are centered on its proprietary T.A.E. (Tube Amp Emulator) circuit, a fully analog amplifier simulator designed to be used as a preamp into a power amp or effects loop return, as a direct-to-desk line source, or as a tube-voiced boost and overdrive into a conventional amp input.
The flagship T.A.E. pedal was introduced at the 2016 NAMM Show, and the line has since expanded to include the 1964 — a larger-format preamp with a 20 dB switchable booster, true coil transformer, remote switching, and speaker-emulated output — as well as the Dirty Boy overdrive and a 10th Anniversary edition of the T.A.E. voiced around the open-back 2x12 Alnico Blue cabinet tones associated with Vox AC30-style rigs. Pedals are hand-assembled in Europe in small batches by partners including Thunder Tomate and LAA Custom.
Gomez's background as the guitarist in the We Will Rock You musical informs much of the brand's tonal aesthetic, which leans heavily on British class-A amplifier voicings. T.A.E.-equipped pedals have been used by players including Vinnie Moore, Mike Orlando, and Jamie Humphries, and have appeared in Licks Library and Jamtrackcentral instructional releases.
