Neutron Sound is a small Eurorack module maker run by Jim (J.) Matheson, who started building and sharing DIY synth projects in the modular community before turning the designs into manufactured modules. The brand grew out of DIY kit culture, with hardware first offered as solder-it-yourself boards and panels and later released as professionally assembled retail units, partly through collaborations with US manufacturers such as WMDevices.

The lineup centers on digital oscillators and utility modules with an experimental, lo-fi character. The Orgone Accumulator, an ARM Cortex‑M4–based wavetable complex oscillator, is the brand's signature design and is widely available in both DIY and retail formats.
