Toru Nittono Guitars is a small, custom guitar workshop based in Van Nuys, California, founded by Japanese-born luthier Toru Nittono. Nittono began his career in a Japanese guitar factory in the 1970s before relocating to the United States in 1981, where he spent years building and repairing instruments in the Los Angeles area for working professionals. He opened his own shop in 2000 and built a reputation as one of the most respected luthiers and repairmen on the West Coast, with notable clients having included Robben Ford, Tom Petty, John Pisano, Bruce Springsteen, Coco Montoya, John Sykes, Carlos Santana, and Ted Greene.

The shop's signature offering is the Model-T, a small-bodied, hollow or semi-hollow Tele-style guitar with a hand-carved arched top in maple or spruce — a hybrid that pairs the familiar outline of a solidbody with the resonance and warmth of an archtop. Nittono also builds a Model-T Nylon variant aimed at jazz players, alongside a line of traditional carved archtop instruments. Each guitar is made to order in very small numbers, and lead times typically run over a year.
