Old World Audio is a boutique builder of analog recording and effects gear, owned by Rodney Davis and hand-made in New Orleans. The company is best known for the 1960 optical compressor pedal, a stompbox-format design that uses a dual-stage release law modeled after the UREI/Teletronix LA-2A, aiming to translate the feel of a studio tube leveling amplifier into a pedalboard-friendly unit that works well on bass as well as guitar.
