One Small Clue is a small Windows VST plugin developer founded by Shannon Matthews and based in Melbourne, Australia. The operation focuses on streamlined sampling tools designed around fast, click-light workflows rather than deep menu diving, and has built a following in the bedroom-producer and freeware-plugin community.

The two flagship instruments are Poise and Grace. Poise is a percussion sampler with 16 drum pads and up to 8 sample layers per pad, supporting round-robin, random, layered and velocity-split switching modes along with per-layer amplitude and pitch envelopes. Grace is a more general-purpose sampler aimed at users who build their own patches, featuring two filters per voice (low-pass, band-pass, high-pass, comb, lo-fi and ring modulation), AHDSR envelopes, LFOs and step sequencers, with import support for SFZ and Chicken Systems patch formats. An earlier chorus effect, Orange Chorus, was also released as a beta freeware plugin.

Poise originally launched as a paid plugin in 2011 before being re-released as freeware, and Grace was likewise made free to download from the One Small Clue site. The Grace source code has additionally been published on GitHub, making it one of the more accessible references for hobbyist Delphi/Pascal-based audio plugin development.
