Orfeus is a Bulgarian guitar maker that emerged during the Communist era, producing electric instruments at a furniture factory in the city of Plovdiv from the late 1960s through the 1970s. With Western instruments largely unavailable in Bulgaria at the time, Orfeus turned out a range of electric guitars, basses, and 12-string variants for the domestic market. Instruments destined for export carried the alternate spelling "Orpheus."

The Hebros is the brand's most recognized model — a semi-hollow body shaped along the lines of a Gibson ES-335, with a flat plywood top and back, a solid pine center block, and a vibrato tailpiece.
