Picato is a British string manufacturer based in the United Kingdom, with roots tracing back to General Music Strings Limited, established by the Stein family in the 1940s. The brand has been producing musicians' strings under the Picato name since 1953 and was acquired by Strings And Things Limited in the early 1980s, which has continued to manufacture the strings by hand in the UK.

The company makes a broad range of string sets covering electric guitar, acoustic guitar, classical guitar, bass guitar, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, and violin.
