Q-Parts is a Los Angeles–based maker of custom guitar and bass hardware founded in 1997 by veterans of LA Guitar Works and Schecter Guitar Research, two of the California custom-parts shops that emerged in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The company built its catalog around small but visible upgrade parts — control knobs, pickguards, and straplocks — designed as drop-in retrofits for standard American and import instruments.
The brand is best known for its decorative knob lines, including the Dome, Mini Dome, Ringo, UFO, and Skull shapes, offered with metal plating in chrome, gold, and black, and inlays cut from acrylic pearl, abalone, mother of pearl, and crystal. Alongside the knobs, Q-Parts produces straplocks in matching shell and acrylic finishes, pickguards cut for Stratocaster, Telecaster, Les Paul, Jazzmaster, and Jazz Bass platforms, and an Aged Collection of relic-style hardware for Strat, Tele, Les Paul, P-Bass, and J-Bass builds. The company also distributes the TUNE line of tuners, electronics, and additional hardware.
