Rainbow Vader is the colored cymbal series within the Vader line, a budget brand designed and produced by Paiste at its West German factory and distributed by Vader Musical GmbH of Rendsburg, West Germany. Introduced in 1985, the Rainbow series sat alongside the original Vader, NuVader, InVader, and SoundVader lines that the company launched in the early 1980s, and was distinguished by its lacquered finishes — most commonly red and black — that paralleled Paiste's higher-end Color Sound cymbals.
