RAMSA (Research for Advanced Music Sound and Acoustics) is Panasonic's professional audio brand, launched in August 1979 with a debut deployment at the Japan Jam festival on Enoshima Island. The initial rollout included 22 products spanning microphones, mixing consoles, power amplifiers, and loudspeakers, with the WR-9316 console, WP-9200 power amplifier, and WU-S series speakers among the first models pressed into service.

The brand built its reputation in live sound reinforcement and installed-sound applications, with WR-series mixing consoles like the WR-S4424, WR-S840, and the digital WR-DA7 finding use in concert venues, theaters, broadcast facilities, and recording studios. The WS-A series of compact loudspeakers, including the WS-A200, became a workhorse for small-to-medium venues, mobile sound, and fixed installs. RAMSA gear circulated widely across North America, Europe, and Japan throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

Panasonic wound down RAMSA's U.S. sales operations in 2003, and the line is no longer in active production for the broader pro-audio market. The mixers, amplifiers, and speakers retain a following on the used market, particularly among engineers seeking utilitarian Japanese-built live-sound gear from the analog and early-digital eras.
