Revival Amps is a boutique amplifier company based in Escondido, California, founded as a collaboration between Drew Shirley (Grammy-winning guitarist of Switchfoot), amp builder Eric Berns, and creative designer Scott White. The brand draws inspiration from 1950s Fender lap steel amplifiers, aiming to capture the raw tonal character of early American tube amps with a modern build quality.
The company's flagship model is the 8E1, a 6-watt Class A combo amplifier featuring a 5AR4 rectifier, 6V6GT power tube, and 12AX7 preamp tube, with simple Volume and Tone controls. The 8E1 is built with hand-soldered point-to-point wiring, military-grade tube sockets, and an all-chrome chassis. Speaker options include a Jensen P8R 8-inch or Celestion Blue Alnico 12-inch, housed in a cabinet of air-dried solid pine with a Baltic birch baffle. The amp was offered in white, blue, or custom hardwood finishes (black walnut or mahogany) with a leather handle and slip cover. Eric Berns later continued producing the 8E1 design under the name Tribute Amplification.
