S by Solar is a budget-focused sub-brand of Solar Guitars, the metal-oriented guitar company founded by Swedish guitarist and YouTuber Ola Englund. Launched alongside Solar Guitars' sixth anniversary, the line was designed to extend Solar's aesthetic and heavy-metal-oriented feature set to beginner and intermediate players, with prices positioned well below the flagship Solar range.

The initial lineup spans six body shapes drawn from Solar's standard lookbook, including the Type AB and SB (superstrat), Type TB (T-style), Type VB (V-style), Type EB (Explorer-style), and a Type AB bass. Instruments are built around poplar bodies with bolt-on maple necks, techwood fingerboards with 22 or 24 frets, high-output proprietary pickups, and finishes such as Carbon Matte Black, White Matte, Flame Blue, and Flame Red. SB models ship with genuine Floyd Rose tremolos, while other configurations use hardtails or through-body bridges.
