Sceptre is an electric guitar brand designed by luthier Gary Levinson, founder of Blade Guitars and Guitars by Levinson in Basel, Switzerland. Levinson began repairing and building guitars in the 1960s, working on instruments for touring artists while based in Champaign, Illinois, before relocating to Switzerland in 1971 and establishing his own workshop in 1977. The Sceptre line was developed in partnership with UK-based Tanglewood Guitars to offer more accessible instruments that reflect Levinson's decades of design experience.

The range draws on classic bolt-on solidbody templates and is organized into a first generation and a Generation II series, with models such as the Ventana, Arlington, and Desoto.
