Sekova was a guitar brand imported and distributed by U.S. Musical Merchandise Company of New York during the 1960s and 1970s. Like many American import labels of that era, Sekova did not manufacture its own instruments — the guitars were built in Japan and badged with the Sekova name for the U.S. market. The bulk of production is attributed to Japanese factories including Teisco, Kawai (and later Kawai-Teisco after the 1967 acquisition), Matsumoku, and FujiGen Gakki in Matsumoto.

The Sekova catalog covered electric guitars, basses, and acoustic and classical guitars at student and entry-level price points. Notable electric models include the Sekova Grecian, an offset-bodied solidbody with the angular styling typical of mid-1960s Japanese builds, and the Sekova Mentor. Acoustic offerings included dreadnought-style flat-tops such as the Model 720 and small-bodied classicals like the Model 711. Headstock spelling sometimes appeared as "Segova," a variant of the same badge.

The brand wound down by the early 1980s and there is no active company carrying it forward today. Vintage Sekova instruments turn up on the used market — mostly through Reverb, eBay, and specialist vintage dealers — where they're collected for their period Japanese build quirks and the garage-rock and psychedelic-era aesthetic of the electric models.
