Sierra Steel Guitars is a California pedal steel guitar maker founded by Chuck Wright, who built his first pedal steel in 1948 and completed the first instrument bearing the Sierra name in 1960. The brand takes its name from the Sierra Nevada mountains visible from Wright's home in Red Bluff. Ownership later passed to Don Christensen, who collaborated with Hall of Fame steel player Buddy Emmons on the Sierra Session model, and the company was subsequently revived by Ed Littlefield, Jr., with builder Ross Shafer producing instruments in a small Petaluma, California shop.

Sierra is known for precision-machined pedal steel guitars and was an early adopter of CNC machining for steel guitar components. The lineup has included models such as the Sierra Session, the Sierra Artist S-10, and the S-12 universal, available in both keyed and keyless configurations. The brand is closely associated with the country and Western swing pedal steel tradition, and players including Joe Wright, a member of the International Steel Guitar Hall of Fame, have long been associated with the instruments.
