Sound Ideas is a Canadian audio company founded in 1978 by Brian Nimens and headquartered in Richmond Hill, Ontario. The company maintains one of the largest commercially available sound effects libraries in the world, supplying audio for film, television, radio, game development, and multimedia production. Its catalog spans hundreds of thousands of effects, ambiences, foley, production elements, and royalty-free music tracks.

The company helped pioneer digital sound effects distribution, releasing its first collection as the Series 1000 in 1979 and following it with the Series 2000 in 1987 as the first fully digital sound effects library. Subsequent flagship releases include the Series 6000, the General HD library, and the Ultimate Hard Drive collection of over 286,000 effects. Sound Ideas also distributes licensed archive collections from Hanna-Barbera, Warner Bros. Animation, Disney, Universal Studios, and the Lucasfilm Series Sound Effects Library.
