Stelling Banjo Works is a Virginia-based maker of high-end five-string banjos founded by Geoff Stelling in 1974. Operating out of a converted one-room schoolhouse on Heard's Mountain near Afton, the company built a reputation for handcrafted instruments where each banjo passed through the founder's own hands before leaving the shop. Stelling banjos are favored in bluegrass circles for their bright, cutting tone, strong projection, sustained ring, and aggressive attack.

The company is best known for Geoff Stelling's patented wedge-fit pot assembly, which mates the tone ring, rim, and flange at precisely matched angles to maintain consistent contact and tonal transfer.
