Founded by Jon "Sully" Sullivan and based in the Dallas, Texas area, Sully Guitars is a boutique electric guitar company rooted in the hot-rod guitar culture of the 1980s. Sullivan grew up idolizing brands like Jackson, Charvel, and BC Rich, began making parts guitars in 2001, and transitioned to full-time guitar building in 2014 after gaining a following through his "Sully's Guitar Garage" YouTube series. Largely a one-person operation, Sully Guitars offers a wide range of original designs with an emphasis on high-performance playability and bold aesthetics.
The company produces two main product lines. The Custom Series instruments are handbuilt in the USA, with models including the '71 singlecut, the Raven (available in 6- and 7-string configurations), the Concorde, the Stardust, the Revolution, the Astro, the Elita, and several bolt-on models like the 622, 624, and 625. The more affordable Conspiracy Series, manufactured in South Korea, brings Sully's designs to a lower price point while maintaining premium components. Across both lines, stainless steel frets are standard, and hardware partnerships include Floyd Rose, Hipshot, EverTune, and Fishman Fluence pickups. Sully Guitars also produces its own proprietary pickups.
Sully Guitars have been featured on the cover of Guitar Player magazine and are played by artists including Michael Sweet of Stryper, Stevie D of Buckcherry, Andee Blacksugar of Blondie and KMFDM, and Roman Surman of Wednesday 13. The company also offers extensive customization options including custom finishes, left-handed builds at no upcharge, and extended-range instruments.
