SynapticGroove is a boutique analog effects pedal company based in Edmond, Oklahoma, founded by Benjamin Harrison and Chrystal Gilles. Launched in August 2013, the brand debuted with the Snapperhead, a handmade overdrive/distortion pedal housed in a Hammond 1590B enclosure. The Snapperhead deliberately omits a tone control, featuring only volume and drive knobs, with the intent of highlighting the natural voice of the player's amp and guitar. It quickly gained a following among professional guitarists, including Richard Fortus of Guns N' Roses and Peter Stroud of Sheryl Crow's band.

The company's second pedal, the SlackJaw, is an OD/boost/fuzz design with a three-way switch for compression, boost, and saturation modes. Like the Snapperhead, it keeps controls simple with just level and gain knobs, and is 100% handmade in the USA. The SlackJaw has been used by Nick Perri and Jefferson Angell, among others. SynapticGroove occupies a niche in the boutique pedal world aimed at players who value transparency and dynamics — bridging the gap between heavy effects users and those who prefer playing straight into the amp.
