Tentacle Sync is a Cologne, Germany–based manufacturer of timecode synchronization hardware and software for film, video, and audio production. Founded in 2014 by Ulrich Esser and Maximilian Kaiser, the company began as an Indiegogo crowdfunding project built around a handmade prototype, with its first commercial devices shipping in 2015. The original goal was to make professional timecode sync — historically the domain of expensive broadcast equipment — affordable and approachable for independent filmmakers and smaller productions.
