Tone Projects is a boutique audio plugin developer based in Copenhagen, Denmark, founded by Rune Lund-Hermansen. Originally launched in 2004 under the name OtiumFX, the company rebranded to Tone Projects in 2010. Lund-Hermansen develops all products, often in close collaboration with external producers, engineers, and DSP specialists. The company is known for lengthy development cycles and meticulously crafted plugins built on original algorithms rather than off-the-shelf DSP solutions.

The flagship product lineup includes Unisum, a mastering compressor that combines wideband compression with flexible multi-band detection; Kelvin Tone Shaper, a dual-stage saturation and push/pull EQ plugin; Michelangelo, a tube EQ and harmonics generator developed in collaboration with hardware designer Chris Henderson of Hendyamps; and Basslane Pro, a low-end stereo width and bass management tool. Legacy products include Sonitex STX-1260, a lo-fi texture workstation that helped define the lo-fi processing plugin category when it debuted in 2006, and Compadre beatpuncher, a percussion-focused compressor. A free version of Basslane is also available.

Tone Projects plugins are used by mastering and mixing engineers working across genres. Endorsements for Unisum and Michelangelo come from professionals including mastering engineer Bob Katz and Grammy-winning engineers such as Dave McNair and Maor Appelbaum.

Tone Projects has 3 products cataloged on Equipboard, including Stereo Width Plugins, Compressor Plugins, and Distortion Plugins.
