Tonelux is a Gardena, California-based manufacturer of modular analog recording equipment, founded in 2005 by audio designer Paul Wolff (previously the longtime owner and chief designer at API). The brand emerged around the idea of the modern hybrid studio, where much of the production work happens inside a DAW and a large-frame console is no longer essential, offering small-format consoles, summing mixers, and modular processors instead.

Tonelux's catalog centers on its proprietary VRack modular format alongside 500 Series modules, with products including the 1628 discrete console, the OTB16 summing mixer, the Equalux and EQ5P equalizers, the MP5A mic preamp, the TX5C compressor, the Dynalux dynamics processor, and the TILT rack tone control. The JC37 large-diaphragm condenser microphone sits alongside the outboard line. The company is now part of the PMI Audio Group, which also distributes brands such as Trident and Joemeek.

Tonelux gear is most often associated with tracking and mix engineers working in hybrid analog/digital workflows, and its TILT tone control in particular has a following as a simple two-knob coloration tool used on mix bus and stem processing duties.

Tonelux has 4 products cataloged on Equipboard, including Effects Processors.
