TOOB is a Finnish speaker cabinet maker based in Kauniainen, near Helsinki. The company was founded by Markku Pietinen, a retired jazz guitarist who built the first prototype in 2007 after picking up a piece of corrugated double-wall plastic pipe from a construction site and realizing the material could be used to build an exceptionally light yet rigid speaker enclosure. After roughly a decade of prototyping, the first production cabinets — the 12J and 12R — were launched commercially in 2017, followed by the 12B bass model.

TOOB's cabinets are hand-assembled in Finland and designed around the rise of lightweight Class D amplification, targeting gigging musicians who want a full-size speaker without the weight of a traditional plywood box. The guitar lineup includes the 10E, 10S, 12J, 12R, and 12S, with bass and full-range models like the 10B, 10EB, 12B, 12EB, and 12F.
