Founded in 1947 by Karl-Heinz Weimer in Hamburg, Germany, Trixon is a drum manufacturer with a legacy of unconventional design and engineering. The company gained recognition in the 1950s and 1960s for its innovative shell shapes and hardware, producing some of the most distinctive drum kits of the era. The Speedfire featured an ellipsoidal bass drum designed to accommodate two bass drum pedals side by side, while the Telstar series introduced conical tom-toms and bass drums with tapered shells. The Jet series, launched in 1968, pioneered the use of fiberglass drum shells. Trixon also manufactured cocktail drum kits, concert percussion instruments, and marching drums.

Trixon drums attracted endorsements from prominent jazz and rock drummers, including Buddy Rich and Lionel Hampton. British jazz and session players such as Phil Seamen, Allan Ganley, Brian Bennett, and Clem Cattini also played Trixon kits. Ringo Starr played borrowed Trixon drums during the Beatles' early performances in Hamburg before switching to Ludwig. In the late 1960s, Trixon produced drums sold under the Vox brand name in the United States, with models like the Trixon Luxus marketed as the Vox Thunderbolt and the Trixon Speedfire rebadged as the Vox Telstar.

The original Hamburg operation closed in the mid-1970s amid intensifying competition from Japanese manufacturers. Jim Laabs revived the Trixon name in 2007, establishing Trixon Drums USA in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. The reborn company offers acoustic drum sets, cocktail kits, marching percussion, snare drums, hand percussion, drumsticks, and mallets.
