TSVG (short for Trolley Square Vintage Guitars) is a boutique effects pedal company founded by Mike Klein in 2011. Klein started the venture in Trolley Square, Delaware, originally buying and restoring guitars and amplifiers before shifting focus to building his own pedals. The operation later moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where each pedal is hand-built and hand-wired using point-to-point construction with premium components such as AC128 germanium transistors, Mullard capacitors, NOS capacitors, and IRC resistors.
TSVG specializes in fuzz, overdrive, and boost pedals. The lineup includes the Slow Ride overdrive/fuzz (their best-known model, capable of ranging from overdrive to full fuzz), the Angry Jeff dual-transistor germanium fuzz, the Keystone Fuzz (inspired by the Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face), the Babbling Flower three-transistor germanium fuzz, the Dying Batt fuzz with a voltage regulator control, the Emperor overdrive, the Red Eye overdrive, and the Hard Stuff clean boost (available in guitar and bass versions). The company also produced a signature Fluzzy pedal for Best Coast guitarist Bobb Bruno, based on the Ibanez Standard Fuzz circuit.
Klein builds each pedal by hand with business partner Yamil Emedan, with artwork by Perry Shall. TSVG pedals are used by artists including Bobb Bruno of Best Coast, Marissa Paternoster of Screaming Females, Brendan Ekstrom of Circa Survive, and Nick Millevoi of Many Arms.
