WaveDNA is a Toronto-based music software company founded in 2010 by Douglas Mummenhoff and David Joseph Beckford. The two met while collaborating on Ryerson University's Emoti-Chair Project and recognized the commercial potential of Beckford's prototype engine, which could analyze musical compositions and isolate rhythmic, melodic, and harmonic characteristics. The company's patented technology structures raw MIDI data into musical components and layers, enabling tools that guide, suggest, and generate new musical combinations.

WaveDNA's flagship products are Liquid Rhythm and Liquid Music. Liquid Rhythm is a MIDI beat creation tool that introduced the concept of composing with note clusters and patterns rather than individual notes, using a proprietary "Music Molecule" system that breaks MIDI data into rhythmic building blocks. It includes a loop library organized by genre and integrates deeply with Ableton Live and other DAWs. Liquid Music extends the same philosophy to melody, chord, and bassline composition, offering generative tools for harmonic and melodic exploration. Both products are available as VST, AU, AAX, and Max for Live plugins.

The company has been a member of NAMM since 2012 and has received support from the Canadian Music Fund since 2015. WaveDNA's online store has gone offline, though existing licenses for Liquid Music and Liquid Rhythm remain valid and functional.
