Tweaker's Delight
The Walrus Audio Janus is a joystick controlled fuzz and tremolo all in one enclosure. The fuzz has 3 selectable clipping diodes and an optional bass boost on board to give you a wide array of fuzz sounds, along with a blend knob to mix in your dry signal. The tremolo is your standard no frills version of the effect, with the ability to add in a significant volume boost. When you used in combination with the fuzz, you can really sculpt massive waves of sound tailored to your taste. The joysticks are sturdy and allow for easy operation and filter-like effects making this pedal ideal for musicians who like to dynamically change their sound. This pedal is just as at home in a keyboard rig as it is a guitar or bass set-up. Made out in Norman, OK the Janus will keep you busy for some time to come.

A rare ripping fuzz.
Originally sold under the "Little Axe Effects" brand, The Gatekeeper was Old Blood Noise Endeavors entry to the market. With about 30 total in existence this pedal is not a common sight, however the circuit was revisited and resurrected in the OBNE Haunt Fuzz. As for the sounds, this pedal can take you from a heavy overdriven sound into broken speaker blistering fuzz territory. The gain boost switch really opens this pedal up, and the bass boost will start moving the air around your amp.

Crunchy as a drive, transparent as a pre-amp, excellent at both.
Walrus Audio's Voyager overdrive is a common sight on many boards today, with good cause. This versatile low gain overdrive has many applications, and limiting yourself to only one can be difficult. As an overdrive on a clean amplifier it has a bright crunch while adding its own color to it, however finding unity gain can prove tricky if you are playing in a low volume situation. I find it excels at taking a tube amplifier right on the verge of break-up over the edge, into harmonic saturation that you'll have a hard time disliking. Hand made in Norman, Oklahoma, the Voyager is built like a tank and ready for the road.

Plymouth Rock.
The Mayflower Overdrive by Walrus Audio is a low to medium gain overdrive pedal with great clarity that sparkles with single coil pickups. The individual Bass/Treble controls allow you to get creative, taking you from spanky country licks to thick chords for alternative rock while maintaining solid chord definition. The Mayflower works very well in combination with fuzz pedals, including both of Walrus's offerings, the Jupiter and the Janus. Like all Walrus Audio pedals, the Mayflower is hand made in Norman, Oklahoma with superb build quality and attention to detail.
