this mic is too expensive. there are cheaper mics out there with similar performance. I shouldn't have to buy an additional device just to get a normal amount of clean gain. You can't even really use this mic without one. I love the gritty, warm texture this gives to vocals. The build quality is solid and it looks great. I think it's worth 300-400 CAD max, but you'll pay around 700 CAD for the version that includes a built-in preamp. Interally, it's nearly identical to a SM58 for 5 times the price.
