I play drums in the band Haliwel. I also make some goofy drum beats on my computer.

I like these drums a lot! To get maple drums at this price was a steal, and was probably why they discontinued the VMX line after a while. The 22 inch kick and 16 inch floor tom are eight-ply, and the 12 inch rack tom is six-ply. I'm starting to incorporate a 14 floor tom into my kit, but I don't remember how many plies it is. I actually don't like the different ply thicknesses. You can really tell the difference from behind the kit as the thicker drums have more projection and a higher sound. When microphoned into the audience, these sound spectacular so I should probably just shut up about it!
I love this ride. The bell crushes and the ping is a dark, defined sound. I sometimes crash on this ride and it is a bit a high-pitched and I wish it was darker like a crash, but that is probably why the ping is so defined. I really do love this ride!
I love this crash! I have this 16 inch one and will never go back. I also have an 18 version and it is a bit loud for riding on, so I am going to get a second right-side crash that is darker, and just use this for crashing.
This is a great crash and my current one is like 8 years old which is crazy. I use this on my right hand side and crash and ride on it constantly.
These are great! Not too loud and have a defined, dark sound!
I had the Sabian 19 Holy China for a long time which is a classic trashy sound, but thought it was too loud and defined in my setup. I tried this and it is great. It blends a bit more and has a roar instead of a shout if that makes sense.
I own this and it is a trip! You can do some much with any sound as far as what happens when and after you hit it...it is crazy. I used to have this in my kit and used it as a second snare for weird effects, but ended up hitting it too hard and it started triggering on its own so I took it in and had it reconditioned. It is a bit delicate, but is crazy with the options. The manual has all kinds of calculations and models you can implement.
