Other than looking AWESOME, The 56-U3 has that classic mojo that everyone from surf guitarists to Jimmy Page loved.
Danelectro had a resurgance in the 90s in particular with alternative and indie rock guitarists. This guitar was a present that i received in '98. Its a total workhorse. always stays in tune and has "that sound". It's also a great option for slide if you set the action a little higher
The "Select-O-Matic" switching also allows for 7 different tonal options which makes it pretty versatile.
The 'blow" switch is also a cool feature that lets you use all three pickups simultaneously.
In this setting you are hearing all 3 lipstick¨ pickups wired in series.
Additional features:
Gotoh tuning machines
adjustable bridge
individually adjustable string saddles
Average weight = 6.8 lbs.
The clasic player jaguar feels exactly like you would expect a vintage jag to feel, but it comes with a few modern features. Some of the updates that i like the best are the hotter single coil pickups in this model. They definitely sound better than your usual stock pups. That being said, upgrading to some aftermarket pickups could push the guitar even more.
this model also features a tone cut switch, an Adjusto-Matic™ bridge, and a neck pocket with increased back-angle for improved stability and sustain.
It's pretty fantastic considering you can get it new for under a grand.
