Best studio desk/workstation

What is your holy grail studio desk to spruce up your creative workspace? Photos are welcome!

http://www.purpleaudio.com/products/mf-twenty-25/

given my druthers I think I would build a small purple audio workspace for my modest homestudio needs... there's actually cmpany pretty local to me that buuilds custom desks for the whole Purple Modular format. If I ahd a lot of money and more space I would build a desk out with their summing, faders etc and then customize the inputs with different 500 series pairs. have my synth rack somewhere in there, a patchbay and some compression. That's not going to happen until my kid is older. Right now ahving lots of stuff in road racks that ic an put away is best sicne kids are infinitely curious about blinking lights and wires.

So by desk do you mean a mixing console? Or an ideal peice of studio furnature with rack space?

If it's the former I have been brooding over that choice for about 8 months now. My holy grail? Does that include a full time tech to keep it tip top so I can focus on working?

I thought he meant furniture, not mixing desk. in a nice home studio the 2 seem to go hand in hand, especially in the age of 35rd party 500 series gear

yeah I wasn't sure. It was...late.

If it's a actual physical desk? 100% recommend you build it yourself. You're guaranteed to get exactly what you want that way. Way cheaper too.

If you need any suggestions on materials mention them here.

if wishes were horses I would have one of these with the legs, problems solved.

Let's go in half and half. Gonna need some seriously long cable runs...

setting up tie lines...

Any chance of a 3-WAY with tin cans and string?

why not, hell there's fiber-optic cable under the atlantic, this should be easy to get off the ground for the 3 of us. Anyone who says we can't? Just more "fake news".

Figure if we all sell our kidneys & some liver tissue (the liver might be a harder sell, sure) on the black maket to bankroll the front end we should be cookin on our new system by the time the jaundce really starts to turn our skin a shade even a bit more creepy than "engineers tan".

Lets do this.

Now instead of thinking like a frontline worker, let's be rational about this and think like upper management. Why use our own organs when we all have access to bathtubs and ice?

Glaring oversight on my behalf. The cost out of pocket for a hotel room & a handful of Xanax is easily balanced in the end.

The real value here isn't hotel rooms, seditives, or organ tissue.

The real value is in the team.

Quality people who can think outta the old tired "let's see our organs to finance a pyrotechnicly expensive piece of gear" box. Hats off sir! One step closer to the dream!

Just a thought: If we advertise auditions at the hotel room, we also get a quick stockpile of "Incidental Gear"....

That's what I like to call "Thinking outside the bathtub".

With a bit of targeted auditions we can even craft the "band" to fill respective needs. Now we're cookin'

I'm gonna go watch The Sting a few dozen times. Reseach. It's like they say: "preperation is just as important as followth..." I dunno, something like that.

No way this ends in tears...or prison...in Thailand? That's a shame. Always wanted to go to Thailand.

me too, I love a good panang curry, even jail curry is probably awesome there.... for father's day my mom got me a thai chilli pepper plant for my yard!

Every good "con a bunch of strangers and steal their organs for sale on the black market and why not grab their live gear while we're at it" is gonna come with some drawbacks.

We can get take out at the hotel.

just remember.... Drawback does not mean pull out!

Yikes, sorry bout that. Been working on the plumbing in my bathroom all day & drinkin'. On a second (less drunk) read it felt a bit too solipsistic. Post that sucker- I am genuinely interested, I just coulda used a bit more restraint or maybe just less booze.
