Favorite Drum Machine

Which your favorite drum machine ?

for me is the linn drum

I'm looking for a cheap alesis sr16, its an amazingly valued box of tricks for the prices you can get them

Best overall, Roland TR-8. Best inexpensive "on the go" drum machine, Korg Volca Beats. Its sound set is limited, but it sounds great and its portability is amazing.

GEAR:
  • Fender Telecaster Custom Electric Guitar
  • Big Ear Pedals Woodcutter
  • HeadRush FRFR Go Portable Desktop Amplifier

also the tr 8 is very good

the emu drumulator really gives me a warm fuzzy because I grew up around it... I should buy my uncle's he never uses it and I might use it occasionally if I owned it.

UPDATE:

drumulator acquired

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

909 and DSI Tempest

I had the wonderful opportunity to screw around on an Oberheim DMX and the sound was just orgasmatic. I also visited Jean Michel Jarres studio (sadly he was not there) and I messed with a EKO ComputeRhythm and that was pretty cool.

Well whaddaya know, after spending weeks nervously hovering over EB deciding on whether to buy a 2nd hand potentially faulted sr16, me and my family were round at a friends house (He himself has some nice stuff, a rare Gibson ES he bought for £4k, a Gibson acoustic he just bought last week for £7k, and a 1974 goldtop, he bought in 1974. Damn rich people), and I saw on the side an sr16, he was going to list, and asked if he'd sell it to me, and so I think my quest is over.

Mostly I'm using drums from Quasimidi Rave-O-Lution 309 and sometimes form Roland MC-909.

GEAR:
  • HardSID4U Studio Edition
  • SIDbox
  • Roland MC-09 Phrase Lab

For the $, the loaded TR8 is insane. By loaded, I mean the 7x7 expansion with the 1.2 606 update. Youve got the sounds of the 808, 909, 707, 727 and 606 in one machime you can beat on and feels built to last. The possibilities within Ableton Live I find incredible using expressive synth sounds. And I know it's seperate, but paired with the TB3, the two are a under $1g powerhouse you can't get for that kind of dough in any other hardware.

There may be better analog specific this or Vintage that, bUT the entire package is unbeatable dollar for dollar.

lovin' the TR8 floor sample at sam ash, hate the TB3... for less money you can get a Cyclone Bassbot which IS a 303 with MIDI implementation. I mean it is scary close, especially now that the pots on mine are breaking in, boy were those knobs stiff out of the box. I am sorely tempted to walk into the store and buy a TR8 and a Moog Sub Phatty one of these days to round out my stash...

I like violin music,It's so nice,Rhythm Drum Machine is my favorite,

Tempest. Tempest is the 1st & the last word.

TR 909. Eeprom to the last version, recapped and power supply refitted. It's on steroids now. Loud as hell and have to admit, the ER-M Multiclock gave it another leap into todays world...
