Hey what's up people!! My name is Eddie and I'm from LA, i went to my first rave this year and i fell in love with the sounds!! Now I'm here trying to create my own home studio: I want to be able to create this sound. Any help would be great and I bought Logic Pro .. so any recommendations for MIDI keyboards and Speakers would be great!! Any help/ suggestions would be great.. Thank you !!

they still have raves out there? I thought the scene was dying back when I was a kid 20 years ago, no kidding... I think your questions have been well covered in other threads, on this forum, go back through and read up then ask more specific questions.

Hey Eddie, welcome! Logic Pro is a great choice for a DAW. Who are some artists you want to sound like?

In terms of speakers (they're called studio monitors in the pro audio world), Equipboard has a guide that would be a good starting point. Check it out! Best Studio Monitors

GEAR:
  • Fender Telecaster Custom Electric Guitar
  • Big Ear Pedals Woodcutter
  • HeadRush FRFR Go Portable Desktop Amplifier

thank you for the correction.. Personally I like porter Robinson , kaskade and MK , Ferry Corsten.. the list goes on but I Like Kaskades music/sound the most!

Cool! All great artists. Porter Robinson is great, his studio seems fairly minimal (see here). Kaskade on the other hand has a ridiculous looking studio!

Since you already have Logic as your DAW, at a minimum you'll want a decent pair of headphones (add studio monitor speakers if you can afford it), an audio interface, and a midi keyboard so you can play and record your synths into Logic. No need to buy software synths at this point, the stock Logic synths are pretty great, and you can always find the free synth plugins.

Here are some resources to help you out:

We haven't done a buyer's guide for MIDI keyboards yet (we need to!). Porter Robinson uses an Akai MPK61, while Ferry Corsten uses a Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol S49.
