How is FL Studio 11 good to produce Electronic Music

in wat ways can i use fl studio

FL Studio is perfect for producing electronic music. Tons of pro artists are using it as their DAW of choice. If you haven't watched this video of Avicii producing a track in FL, you should - it's pretty cool watching how he works.

I would tend to agree with gchiaren--FL Studio is a really great platform for creating EDM. Truth is, there are lots of DAWs that'll get you there these days if you know how to use them, but FL Studio is among the easiest to learn the basics with and yet the application is incredibly deep... and that's before you even wade into the waters of 3rd-party VSTs.

Don't believe people who try to poo-poo FL Studio. There are lots of cork-sniffers who like to belittle it because it's popular with beginners. That doesn't make it less than a great tool, though.

i actually use FL Studio as my daw i Just wanted to know is there anyother DAW for electronic production

visit my account on equipboard and the got to my soundcloud account

Most any DAW can be used to produce EDM, if you know how to use it the right way. I use Reason 8 to do electronic stuff all the time, and I've been told that Reaper has MIDI programming capabilities which, when used with VSTs and virtual instruments, could be used to produce electronic music. Same goes for Logic, ProTools, and just about all other modern DAWs.

If you're just in the mood to explore what another DAW can do, I think Bitwig is kinda the new kid on the block. Here's a cool deep house tutorial done 100% in Bitwig:

That's an awesome software you can create any possible sounds, use virtual synthethizer and MORE...

Maybe a bit late comment, but I use FL to, it has a really fast workflow (especially with mouse and keyboard) but I'm using Ableton live (suite) more these days, because it has a super fun workflow with hardware like the Launchpad, launchcontrol etc...

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but wouterbruijninckx if I were to get Ableton Live, what's the best hardware to get in your opinion that improves workflow (or makes it more fun to create music)?

Launchpad? Launch Control? Akai APC40? Push?

I also use Ableton Live, and to MAKE music, Push is going to be the best option. The other 3 options are more for performing music and controlling live, well, live (e.g. triggering clips, controlling effects etc.). If you want to make music go for Push; it was designed by Ableton, for Ableton :)

I own a launchpad and launchcontrol myself, and they work quite good, but i think ableton push is the best production wise (sadly don't own one yet), and apc/launchpad are more performance oriented, the launchcontrol is a bit between production and performance (sorry if my english is a bit bad ;d )

wouterbruijninckx your English is perfect, where are you from?

Thanks guys, ok I will add Push to my want list. I'm more interested in making music rather than performing for the moment. It sounds like if you learn how to use Push, it's a productivity gainer. Is there a large learning curve? :)

I'm from Belgium, so my native language is Dutch... And since I don't own push yet I can't tell about the learning curve ;)

Fl Studio is just an awesome DAW to work specially for the begineers..... Reasons; 1.Loads of plugins built in. 2.User Friendly. 3.Faster. 4.O/P..Good. 5.Recording O/P Good. 6.Vast numbers of Plugins available for free!

Buddie try for Ableton live Suite 9....not simple as FL

FL Studio is an amazing DAW in so many ways its ridiculous. The versatility and functionality of it offers the producer the means to create an entire album in a matter of weeks (If dedication of time allows) or simply jot down a simple pattern to come back and build onto later. I've used it for years and really don't see any reason to change. It simply suits my workflow just fine. Best of luck to you in your future endeavors.

FL Studio has been in development since at least 1998 (when I first bought it). It step sequences, it VSTs, it records, it plays back, it mixes, it shifts, it normalizes, it ADSRs, it cuts... good golly, you can use ASIO, all your external hardware. It's pretty fast. It's very scalable, if you don't have a hot rod system (or if you do). Comes with a lot of great instruments. Cheap.

I swore by Logic back before apple bought it... back then I had the original FL and used it to create loops from my own samples that I would bounce down and use in logic.... later this was my approach with Cubase sx and I also flirted with rebirth and then reason when it came out, but FL just grew and grew and I gave up on doing anything outside of FL unless it was totally 'organic' (versus electronic) music....

I am still awestruck at how many people are using FL these days from newbs to pros... I spent years worrying it would disappear from production and I would be stuck with the propellerheads software (which I never quite warmed up to, though rebirth sounded pretty col at the time I must admit)... I am so glad they expanded FL and it caught on with the world like it has. While they have added tons of features and packs of samples for beginners it still secretly caters to guys like me who build every millisecond of audio ground up using hardware, stock FL features and 3rd party plugins out the whazooo. Its a 'have it your way' platform and I like that.
