Making of Depeche Mode's Sounds of the Universe via Keyboard Magazine

I came upon this May 2009 Keyboard interview today and there is too much equipment that is not attributed to specific members of the band. However, it's still a fascinating peek into the recording process and there was a three part teaser released March of that year that I managed to track down on the WayBack Machine. Enjoy! Best is the possible eBay war between Martin Gore and Moby.

Thanks this is amazing. I love DM so much. Actually it goes levels beyond just "love" 😆 A couple of my tattoos are heavily based on Dave Gahan's. I must have watched their One Night In Paris (Exciter tour 2001) DVD over 100 times. DM was the first huge concert I ever attended.

I'll definitely read up on everything you just linked!

one night in paris is a real high point of the post-Alan era... there's some really cool footage on youtube of rehearsals thata re on this 'studio sessions' playlist

Wrong and Come Back are standout demo performances and its really cool to see guys who are known for programming sitting in a room with their production team banging the tunes out.
