Maschine studio vs Akai Mpc Touch??

I'm thinking of upgrading my home studio next month, I'll say I have a pretty good laptop it's a 2013 Alienware 17 running FL Studio, I own a pair of Yamaha hs5's studio monitor's, a focusrite 2i2 audio interface, an Akai mini mk 2, a live wire power conditioner, and a G-raid external hard drive with 4Tb of memory.

I was looking into getting a Maschine studio, but with the new Akai Touch out it makes hard to choose from. I was also looking into the Komplete Kontrol and the Akai Advance. Maybe I don't need a midi upgrade, any other recommendations as to where my money should go to??

My budget is at around $1500

Man Maschine Studio vs Akai Touch is a tough one. I'm loving what I'm seeing about the Akai Touch, it's super sleek.

NI Komplete Kontrol and Akai Advance are keyboards, as opposed to strictly pad controllers... I see you have an Akai Mini mkii, is that sufficient keyboard for you? If you feel limited by keyboard size, then I'd upgrade keyboard for sure before I got a new pad controller.

Are you just interested in getting into production with an MPC style controller? Or do you use one currently?

I was gonna suggest that you need headphones but I saw you use Audio-Technica ATH-M50s/LE on your Equipboard :)

I would not be happy with a touch controller and just your mini keyboard but I play piano pretty well and like my keys to be CLOSE to full size with a decent weighting and at least 2 octaves, so YMMV

Hmm just thought of something that could be fun. We recently did a roundup on the best hardware drum machines. Ever considered picking one up? Not sure what genre(s) you produce, but watch some videos on the Korg Volca Beats, or a Korg Electribe ER-1. Something like this would only take up a tenth of your budget, and could unleash some serious creative potential.

man, I wonder if I still have my Emu Drumultor around... this video is making me miss hardware drum machines! When I got fruityloops in the 90s I figured I was done with all that..... BUT!

shouting out to the OP here, what has you so excited to grab a touchpad controller?

I produce mainly Hip hop and R&B music as well as other genres. My Akai really has been limiting my work flow which becomes more of a hassle.

I'm looking into the Akai Touch and the Maschine mainly to sample, as well as to the creative work flow that comes with either controller.

I'm thinking of picking up a keyboard at the same just to have a solid set up, the Komplete Kontroller interested me because of the interaction you can get with using it with the Maschine Studio but I really feel the Akai Advance has better features as a standalone Mido Keyboard
