Worst synthesizer you’ve ever had?

What’s the worst synthesizer you’ve had the misfortune of using?

GEAR:
  • Yamaha DX7
  • Casio SA-20 Mini Keyboard
  • Yamaha RX15

its all context.... objectively the poly800 I guess but I liked it anyway despite it really being paraphonic and chintzy.... would I trade my polysix or 61 for another one? no, but it did some things they don't like a poor man's mono poly.... maybe the tx81z was worse it cna really sound harsh but again context, the thing is more than lately bass...

wait, the roland D20, that's the worst, what a piece of garbage! totally useless... I wouldn't pay $50 for one

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard Electric Guitar
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

While it's certainly not the worst-sounding synth I've ever used, the "Least Enjoyable Rack-Mount Synth to Operate" award goes to the Yamaha FS1R.

GEAR:
  • Roland TR-808 Rhythm Composer
  • Roland TR-909 Rhythm Composer
  • Roland SH-101 Synthesizer

cough Um, be it my misfortune or no, that was my first synth. In fact, I've had a few inspirational artists autograph it, as though I have owned better since, it was my first, and always will be.

Oh, I may call it a heavy MIDI controller now, but mine is worth a lot...to me at least. ;)
