virtual Analogue module that can emulate all of the classics, semi modular internal routing, 2 oscillators, bult in effects, multi outs, vocoder, external input. This is my weapon of choice for any analogue sounds as it sounds much better and more distinctive than any vsti. Sound design is quick an intuitive although there are several menus inside the hood even though this has a serious amount of knobs and buttons.
very analogue sounding sampler, samples in 16, 12 and 8 bit. Interface is second to none and is easy to do anything once you have your head around the semi modular operating system. As well as being a sampler it also has a great synth engine and the famed E-MU Z plane filters once the OS is upgraded to 3.02. Multiple outs and a joy to use as you can do lots of fabulous things with this, sounds great as the A/D conversion makes things really sit in the mix. The E-MU sample library is also second to none and was used on soo many hit records in the 80's and 90's. Always try to get one with a zip disk though as SCSI is slow and loading samples from 3.5 floppy's is no fun and is really impractical.
I love this board it has a massive amount of presets which are very usable, only thing that lets it down is the acoustic piano but hey Korg make up for this by adding the classic M1 piano which is mandatory if you are doing dance music. I am a fan of lower resolution samples as they seem to cut through things live and this board does this in spades. Great board for very little money
These boards are built like a tank, it has an amazing full weighted action as good as anything. If you have this board and use the internal sounds which are OK but very vanilla you are not doing this great board any justice. When you either program it or load the memory card sounds into it the board comes to life, comparable with the SQ1, SQr, SQ1 plus & SQ2 it really sounds like nothing else and has awesome effects and a nice onboard sequencer. In my eyes Ensoniq is the most underated keyboard manufacturer and these are at least equal and usually surpasses the Korg, Roland, Yamaha equivalents of its age by some way. Ensoniq really had something special back in the day and then disappeared known to only the chosen few who either owned or used them. Can be picked up for very low prices but i'm sure as soon as people become more aware they will be very desirable and sought after.
In my opinion one of the coolest new instruments full stop, capable of very wonderfull things and can be highly creative in production scenarios. Awesome kit - Highly recomended
The shear ease of having all of those amps and effects in a hardware box that can be DI's to record is second to none. irreplaceable and still my goto unit after over 10 years of use.
When I first bought this over 10 years ago not one person had a good thing to say or neither did any shops have one I could try. I watched the you tube videos and was blown away and took a chance and man im soo glad I did. Build quality is awesome, it has a choice between 25 of more guitars and do they sound authentic? - HELL YES! After spending serious money on guitars in the past I now just use my variax 700 in tandem with my Pod XT pro and get unbelievable results with the greatest of ease. I know people who have used my guitar and then bought one of these things. I am a purist but at the same time clever enough to not be a snob and in reality if it is good enough for Steve Howe it is good enough for me. I am just confused as to why everyone else is not onto this unbelievable guitar? Get one at the low prices while you can as this is the worlds first modeling guitar, a market leader, an innovator and I feel like Leo Fender got the Strat, Telecaster and P bass right line 6 have doen it here. ONE WORD - UNREAL
I use these for mixing as the bass is unreal and I don't have a sub, as with all Beyerdynamic products sound quality is awesome and they have a very flat frequency response. In my eyes at this pricepoint best in class - highly recomended
Love this little yellow box, shame it is not knob per function but it is essentially an updated pro one
A modal synth for £160 is a no brainer, the computer interface is a bit buggy but this synth sounds like a £1000 plus synth and also has its own signiture sound which fits very well into mixes. Its sound very retro and also very modern, has effects, morphable filters, complex modulation, effects, sequencer, arpegiator etc.. Please check out my video of the sounds if you need convincing https://youtu.be/9lWivU-7Xl4 A future classic in the making and a great advert for Modal
I have owned this since the mid-90s. It is a very powerful rompler with four oscillators, built-in D4, and quadraverb 2 effects. It is so deep that I cannot seem to get to the bottom of this beast.
The playability, the combination of those seymoor duncan PJ pickups and the slim Jazz style neck make this one a keeper
Easily my favourite synth at the moment, great for getting those cant get sounds
