Are Companies' artist pages reliable sources ?

Title says it all really. I've given a good bunch of submissions with a few amp and drum companies' "endorsed artists" pages, and I just wanna make sure they are acceptable for future submissions of the same kind. Cheers !

Yeah, we count those as reputable. I always like the ones that include a promotional video where the artist explains the product or photo of an ad with the artist. Reason being, when endorsements expire the companies' websites generally change and the source gets outdated.

GEAR:
  • EarthQuaker Devices Westwood
  • Fender '57 Custom Champ
  • Fender American Original '50s Telecaster

yes, bt in reality? no! I know a lot of guys who use their endorsed ear as stage dummies and then use what they like off stage

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

Yeah, totally legit. I like to take screenshots of those, upload them to Imgur and use that link as proof bc sometimes the brand page changes or gets taken down.

Agree with jim, there's def a lot of marketing sheen going on and surely there are endorsements that are 'for show' only, but it's hard to draw that line so as far as an "encyclopedic" entry it totally counts.

Even as endorsement deals change for a certain artist, it's kind of interesting to see that history.
