Changing a review rating

Not sure if this is a bug or just a dumb question - I'm trying to change the rating I gave on an item, but don't seem to be able to. I know to click through to the item page & click on the aggregated star rating, and it shows the star rating I previously gave correctly. But if I try to click on a different star to change my rating, none of the stars are highlighted (as if i've just rated zero stars), and repeated clicks don't cause any stars to light up.

Possibly related - I never actually wrote a review, so there's no title or body text associated with my original gear rating. I was hoping to rate some items until I have more time to write a full review.

Sometime last year, there was a bug impacting the star rating display when you were viewing your own Equipboard... I don't know if it was ever 100% crushed, as I still see some star ratings on my own EB that look a little off what I remember. Haven't had time to play with it though. Not shocked if this is related... but know you're not alone in anomalies like this.

You should be able to change your star rating by following the steps you outlined. You are saying you went to the item page, clicked on the aggregated stars, which takes you to the "Write a review" page right? From there, you should be able to change star rating (whether or not you write a review). That is bugging out for you?

Is it still possible to give something a star rating without writing a review?

I tried to edit the star ratings on a few items that don't have written reviews, and I was not able to make the change without writing something in both fields.

Ah yeah. It's a bit confusing but the star rating saves in real time, as soon as you click any star. No need to hit Post Review button!

Yep, that's the one that's buggy for me. Exact steps:

• Clicking on link from my Equipboard to https://equipboard.com/items/aas-ultra-analog-va-3

• Clicking on the aggregated stars rating icon to get to review page

• 3 stars currently highlighted on Write A Review page - clicking on 4th star makes stars all go blank

• Clicking on any stars makes them briefly "blink" to acknowledge a change, but still all stars empty

• Checking my personal Equipboard page again (and hitting refresh) shows no change to my rating.

Using Microsoft Edge 90.0.818.36 (Win 10) here, I guess I should have tested other browsers too just in case....

EDIT: Just tested on Firefox 87.0 (Windows 10), same behavior there too.

Yep, I remember that bug! But this one is (I think) unrelated. It's showing the original score I gave the item correctly on my Equipboard, though that's the same score as the aggregated score so I guess I wouldn't know the difference! The bug is that I can't change my score for the item now that I've rated it.

Thanks for the steps to replicate, that's helpful. I'll take a closer look at what could be going on and report back!

edit: btw you guys inspired us to change (hopefully improve?) the rate & review process slightly. Now it prompts you to star rate first, before even showing the review form fields. Hopefully that's less confusing to people, and implies that you can star rate without necessarily having to write a review right then!

It's helpful if you tell them exactly what you need changed/fixed... is it that you can't change the star rating on ANY item in your personal equipboard, or just certain items?

Well, I already contacted the staff via contact form... It is related to a one certain item, the rest is fine. Time will tell if it is possible to change the rating. So i deleted my review but every time I try to write a new one i have default four star rating. Clicking on the stars results in "no star" rating but after submitting the review it is a four star review again... Clearly a bug. So I van have a review with 4 stars or no review at all. I decided to delete the review as the lesser evil.
