Consolidating music software. What do you think?

Not a dumb question at all. Part of what keeps the lights on is ranking in Google for products, so Equipboard wants to come up when someone searches "FL Studio 20" for example. The search volume tends to be for the latest current version. So there's the rub.

In that case, it seems totally worth the administrative overhead to keep on top of it all. :)

Thanks for the explanation!

Hi i'am french and in french "consolidating music softawe" means "make music software stronger as hardware" ! i don't have many money so i use only plugins for make my music. but everyone knows that using plugins in real time cause a bad delay when you hear the record ! (Latency) here how i fix this problem: by using two daw at the same time. in my case i use samplitude for midi and audio recording and protools hd tdm for make running the plugins and instrument. you can do it in an unique computer or in two different computer (one with samplitude the other with protools) so now i will explain how to use protools hd tdm plugins for having no recording latency in samplitude. in samplitude there's an option named : "Offset recording" you can put a value in "sample" positive value will make all audio recording earlier. so i measured all the delay in samples of different protools plugins by putting a microphone in front of my speaker and record a clear audio tempo click track played by samplitude through the plugins used in protools after i can see the difference beetween the clear click track an the other which is passed by protools plugins in samplitude . the result is that Guitar Rig RTAS in protools at 128 samples buffer do 465 samples. Waves GTR TDM do only 130 samples. so i decide to put 500 samples in the offset recording of samplitude. Why ? because in my work session i like to use many different plugins and all plugins have different latency but if i record waves gtr tdm (130 samples) in samplitude (offset 500) i will be 370 samples earlier in my samplitude session. so i fix this second problem by using the plugins "TIME ADJUSTER" in protools. so when i use GTR tdm i insering time adjter and put 370 samples (370+130)=500 when i record with guitar rig RTAS i put 35 samples in time adjuster.(465+35)=500 the results is the same as if you are using hardware. i can also use all rtas intrument of protools and play them with the midi of samplitude (you only have to put record on the protools track and protools will receive the midi note of samplitude)... this system is huge ! and now protools tdm is old cheaper and samplitude also ! but you can also use cubase ableton ernergy xt or sonar because they have all an Offset record fonction but they didn't have time adjuster ! so the combination of an asio offset record and avid time adjuster is my solution for Consolidationg music software ! best regards phil

cubase will just do that for you

@weesch what is your deal? I do not mean to offend when I ask this, but are you a bot? You regularly post various text blocks about plugin delay compensation here on the site.

https://equipboard.com/weesch/forum_posts

This is all you post about.

I'm sure you understand my concerns, given the limited facts presented thus-far: your patterns of behavior don't yet match those of an actual human user with an interest in contributing to this community.

Yeah it’s strange, usually bots want to lay down a link or something. These are just DAW tips, interesting bot lol

there's a link in the first post, and in the profile, and in the only studio photo... but the lack of links in the subsequent posts is a head-scratcher. Benefit of the doubt: it's some next-level Google algorithm-gaming I'm not yet hip to.

hi i had used cubase 5 for long and it was unable to compensate the latency of the plugins... and if it do cubase do it bad that's why you have "recording shift" option in the asio preference. and also a delay option in every audio track. but if you are satisfy with your audio with cubase stay like that. also cubase 5 cannot make working many plugins at 128 or 64 samples. that's why i use protools for make it work better. best regards

hi pkennethk. i think my contribution could be very usefull for many people who have latency problems by using vst /rtas/tdm plugings in realt time track recording. best regards

thanks for your support Gchiaren. because when i told what i do on other music site like audiofanzine moderators close my account. and i think it's because my methode work really well best regards phil

hi Pkennethk i let you a link of a song made with my system samplitude + protools hd tdm https://vimeo.com/510833299 i would be proud to create google algoritm-gaming....but it's not the case i only found a methode let you compensate by yourself rtas/vst/tdm audio plugins easily. just for recording the same things that your have heard when you play guitar bass. best regards phil

But your tips are completely irrelevant to the topic of this thread, which is about how to track information on this website. Tips for using DAWs don't belong here.

I appreciate the humor of responding to my inquiry with another link, weesch. :)

I'm not a Moderator, but to pofm's point, be mindful of staying on-topic... at least for these more important threads started by an Admin.

sorry i don't undersatnd well english i'am french !

thanks for your support Gchiaren. because when i told what i do on other music site like audiofanzine moderators close my account.

Account closure is a reasonable outcome for a user that is repeatedly spamming links to their music video and/or forcing the same topic over and over despite a lack of interest from the rest of the community. Wouldn't you agree?

hi Gchiaren. is ok ! i had already talk to him long years ago ...... and what you say is not true.... there's no lack of interest in my post.... because Gchiaren told me that hundred of people had already seen my post every month (600). sorry to disturb you. yes i make music. and want people having the same pleasure than me to use plugins without latency . best regards weesch
