Forum Search box???

i couldnt find a thread to see if there was one to put this on but i was thinking it would help decrease clutter and make finding aswers faster, but is the possibility of searching the forums for certain relevant topics, ie something like a search box that looks for key/matching words. id imagine this has been asked before but the ability to go to the forum and search jack white instead of having to make a new thread like "ball and biscuet guitar tone" would be a nice addition

i get stuff like this takes time especially since this a site of enthusiasts doing it in spare time as a labor of love, just curious if the idea had been mentioned/played around with

I actually haven't heard this idea in a while, but I like it. I was recently trying to hunt down an old forum thread and wish I had something of the sort.

I'm trying to think if we could do this in increments - maybe first introduce a forum search that looks through topic titles (in this case, as an example, the topic title being Forum Search box???).

If it works well, we could then expand it to searching through the actual contents of a thread.

Would it be at all useful if it only looked through topic titles?

yea that would work, like i was wanting to find some info on gary clark jr and if i could search his name or a pedals name that would help take away the amount of duplicate topics

Do you guys know of any forum that has an elegant solution to this?

Right now the EB search results page is 3 columns (pro artists, items, and members). Not sure where to squeeze in forum posts.

Any ideas?

maybe a separate "sarch forum" on the forum homepage only?

Okay, forum search is live. Look in the upper left of forum pages and you should see a "Search the Forums" link.
