Help identifying this guitar? (Duncan Lloyd of Maximo Park)

Looks so much like a Gibson ES-XXX, but don't recognize the logo on the headstock.

This guitar is a Westone Rainbow. Built in the 80s in Matsomuko factory. Very rare and very hard to get hold of.

If they have the original pickups in them like Duncan's one here they sound absolutely top notch.

I'm thinking aria?

There was an aria version built in the same factory. It's production (same headstock / body shape etc) moved over to Korea after the Westone versions production ceased. The quality differs (as always) with the two versions.

Definitely the Westone version. Duncan Lloyd the guitarist pictured has two of them!

there's a washburn branded one too that's from the same era as my matsumoko-built Falcon.... some time in the 80s the washburn version also went to Korea and got a more Gibsony headstock..... my Yamaha SA1000 is a mid70s matsumoko 335 copy.... main differences are the heel, neck profile, headstock shape and pickups.... the Matsumoko 335 clones are a bit different in vibe than the Fuji-Gen ones, hard to describe, I have no particular preference, both are serviceable versions of my all time favorite guitar design.... If you look at Duncan's westone it has the same oversized bridge and slender, devil horns as my Yamaha (as opposed to Gibson 'mickey mouse ear' horns)

Matsumoko were notorious for rebranding a lot of the guitar models they built under contract with crazy company names like Westone.... they did it with the Greco Barney Kessel copy too, I have seen like 3 different brandnames on these nice BK clones from the 70s that look IDENTICAL to the Greco ones but sell for less for whatever reason
