Yep, that's as far as I got.

the closest I'm getting on their website is the Airline Twin Tone.

i'll keep looking. never seen that bridge before. who uses it? who are you looking to submit it to?

Another Piece! Hipshot Baby Grand Guitar Bridge

Ladies and Gentlemen... we HAVE a Partscaster!

GEAR:
  • Fender MIJ Jazzmaster JM62
  • Epiphone Dot
  • Electro-Harmonix Sovtek "Green Russian" Big Muff Pi V7C

I actually tried the baby grand on my old Carvin semi-hollow before retiring her and I really liked it. I recommend it to anyone looking for a music-sounding 1 piece replacement for a wrap bridge who also wants lower tension on bends because they wanna use heavier gauge plains trings than 10 or they wanna switch to flatwounds

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

$110 USD for the standard. And they look classy as fuck.

I've used a lot of hipshot parts apart from the baby grand I gotta, say for as much as they cost versusgeneric shit on allparts? they are great value for dollar when you compare them to bespoke stuff like Rutters.

  • Roland Juno-6

I don't mind ID'ing stuff, and I wont steal your cool points.

Next time, a picture of the full guitar... not just bits... will get you a dedicated answer much sooner.

I didn't believe that people would race and try to add the newly identified items until it happened a couple of times. I'm not doing it for the points, but if I did some online digging already, I hate feeling like my time was wasted and someone else swoops in and adds the item. I recommend everyone edit the photos for just this reason.

If you posted it on here, you pretty much gave up on your searching.

You were unable to identify the item based on the best possible image you had to work with, with full knowledge of the artist and with that, some indication of timeframe.

Trying to find an answer should be the goal at this point.

This information would have probably gotten this answered sooner.

Asking for help based on hacked up pieces of the image???

wow.

But, we found it for you, based on pieces.

Glad we could help.

Bravo everyone!

Seems our collective well was wrong anyway. Mike tweeted at me that it was actually a Dual-Tone Supro and gave a bit more info on it.

Did he confirm the Eastwood headstock and Hipshot tail piece?

He didn't have to. He saw the photo of him playing and gave us the info. If you look up that other brand of guitar, they use the same headstock design, their logo is nearly identical, and they use a variety of bridges. The luthier he mentioned liked changing pieces for each guitar.

Supro's parent company, Valco, made Airline guitars and some of their for Mongomery Wards department store in the 50s and 60s. All of them overlap Supro models. Eastwood bought the Airline name recently and revived the brand with some modernized reissues. I think the revived interest in department store gear can be laid entirely at the door of jack white. Most guys I knew who used that stuff before just sued it because it was cheap, but jack bought it when it was cheap and then turned it into his signature for awhile changing a lot of people's perceptions of Silvertone and Airline...

interestingly, the stock pickups on supros and airlines look like humbuckers but are actually a really crappy singlecoil mounted in a surplus Gibson humbucker cover to fool newbies! I think the guy in question replaced the shitty stock pickups with phat-cat type humbucker sized P90s.

I don't know much about Gretsch guitars. Certainly not their model numbers. I'm looking for a 6 string version of a Gretsch G5422G-12 Electromatic 12-String Hollowbody Electric Guitar. Everything else the same. Same tailpiece, F holes, number of pots, inlays, color, and pickups. I just need to know what the 6 string clone would be called.
