Needs Review, still?

To whom it may concern (Mods, etc),

Over at the James Petralli - White Denim page, nearly every piece of gear submitted there is still labeled as "Needs Review". I contributed numerous pieces of gear there so far, nearly 2 years ago at this point, as well as others who've contributed factual info, all backed by photographic evidence and/or links to articles to prove their authenticity. Could someone Please put their 'stamp of approval' on said gear, so that it doesn't say "needs review" anymore? I'd be very grateful!

PS, there is 1 guitar discrepancy, which should be removed: someone misidentified James's custom-order '72 stereo/varitone equipped ES-335 as a Gibson ES-345, which incorrect.. He never used an ES-345, at least not that I've ever seen/heard. He confirmed the make and year of his ES-335 to me personally after a show.

I think that's everything. Thank you for your time!

Cheers, -t

Hey t,

I get the frustration about things being in Needs Review status. I'm glad you posted here because that brings attention both to the James Petralli page and the issue as a whole.

If anyone has any suggestions how to get more eyes on Needs Review statuses, I'm all ears.

Anecdotally I've participated in Discogs a bit (a database of artists and their releases/records), and made some edits that were marked as approved by someone a year (and oftentimes more) later. I think this is an issue community-moderated sites face. That doesn't mean it's impossible to improve, of course!

@silic0ne_t0ad I understand your frustration; I've got a lot of stuff I submitted 2 or 3 years ago that still hasn't been reviewed... becoming a Moderator here didn't magically change that, lol.

I've reviewed every item on Jame's page. As you will see, reviewing is not one and the same as a "stamp of approval"... there are a lot of entries that need additional info. All entries on James' page that are currently in "Needs Review" status are items where I added missing provenance info, and now someone else needs to go in and approve them...

...speaking of which, something you might not have been aware of: all users can review/approve entries here on EB, so you've got the power to go in and help put the stamp of approval on any item where you weren't a submitter/editor.

Sorry that it's an old post but how do you put your own stamp of approval on? It looks like there's still a whole issue with the Needs Review stuff

I'm not 100% sure what youre referring to. What is the Needs Review issue, exactly?

UPDATE: If the question is: "how do I review/approval other people's submissions?", please chime in. There have been many design changes on the site in recent years, and the process of reviewing other's submissions requires more clicks than it used to, so if you weren't able to find where to review a submission, that's good feedback.

you could add a filter for the front page that only shows those in need of review.

i've also been quality rating things when i have the downtime (im a hs student so that is always) and the school's content filter blocks a lot of things. i do my best to help out, though.

I did find that people tend to mark things as correct...and I did find out how to mark other people's submissions correct myself. I understand now thanks guys

Glad to hear it. I can see how the location/steps for reviewing someone else's submission are little out of the way in this current site design. Good that you found it.

Your submissions are excellent, BTW. Thorough and precise... just as I've come to expect from good metal drummers.

Many thanks.
