I have a question, are we allowed to add gear that isn't available for purchase whatsoever, like custom handmade gear?

Yes depends on the purpose, you have to add it , like to your own Gear because its your gear, or to an artist. Just to get an Item will get lost, because no one will see it and end up as constant data trash on the site, because no one does use or see it. But we did already add a lot of weird things to artists like a Drill , Pencil, Moonshine Bottle, Duck Tape , a Megaphone and so on .... Also we add of course Custom Instruments also when they are not for sale, as long its your gear or you have proof an Artist does use it. And of course this should not be overdone, like adding 1000 Duck Tapes for guitar or 1000 Bottles can be a flut does not make sense, when we got already a Duck Tape you have too add this one and not making another duck tape item on the site. Like when you got a selfmade instrument we can add it to your gear or a WW2 Siren or something like this, or you use something as an instrument or as tool for making music like a paperclip or whatsoever we can add this too. So what you wanna add there and in which place your Gear or to an Artist ?

I was wanting to add kazumoto endo's custom joystick switcher to junky’s page

Yes that is possible , we can add it to Kazumoto Endo too, when you want to add it to junky, you need a Video or picture does proof that he got it in his gear or using it. I will add the Item.
