Product categories - what do you think??

Hi Equipboarders!

We recently launched a new way to explore Equipboard. Most of the items should now have categories, which should make it much easier to look for products in the same category. 😎

So for example, if you’re checking out a pair of studio monitors and want to explore other studio monitors, you can do so in one click.

We would love your input on how we can make this better. What do you like and dislike about the new product category pages? When you look for new or different gear, what kinds of things matter to you?

We would love your help building this into something awesome, so let us know what you think!

GEAR:
  • Fender Telecaster Custom Electric Guitar
  • Big Ear Pedals Woodcutter
  • HeadRush FRFR Go Portable Desktop Amplifier

very cool. i like the idea of there there being something other than guitar center, sweetwater, etc where i can browse gear. i think it could use better sorting. maybe by popularity, or number of artists that use certain gear, or star rating... not sure what the best options are, i'm sure different people might like different things.

Break down plugins by what type they are. Here's a good list of plugin/vst categories:

Compressor Plugins, Limiter Plugins, Delay Plugins, Chorus Plugins Flanger Plugins, EQ Plugins, Reverb Plugins, Amp Simulator Plugins, Filter Plugins, Gate Plugins, Channel Strip Plugins, Sequencer Plugins, Spectral Analysis Plugins, Stereo Width Plugins, Frequency Shifter Plugins, Phaser Plugins, Distortion Plugins, Bit Crusher Plugins, Modulator Plugins, Pitch Shifter Plugins, Transient Shaper Plugins, Expander Plugins, Surround Tools Plugins, FX Bundle Plugins, Tremolo Plugins, Vibrato Plugins, Enhancer Plugins, Vocoder Plugins, Saturation Plugins, Granular FX Plugins, Randomiser Plugins, Mastering Plugins, Noise Removal Plugins, Mastering Suite Plugins, Multi-Effect Plugins, Vocal Processing Plugins, De-Esser Plugins, Exciter Plugins, Envelope Shaper Plugins

Oh and also a way to catalog and find free plugins would be great. Maybe tag them with free or something? That way I could still be searching for Reverb Plugins but filter to just see ones that are free to download.
