Recommend a Reverb?

I'm lacking decent reverb in my setup. My mixer [Zed 12-FX] has a few different reverbs, but the quality of the effects on the mixer aren't all that great.

I'd like to get something dedicated to reverb. So far, I'm considering these:

Eventide Space Reverb

Make Noise Erb-Verbe

Tiptop Z-DSP w/ Valhalla Reverb

I think I'm leaning towards the Eventide, since it wouldn't take up space in my rack. Anyone have experience with one or more of these? Would love to hear your thoughts.

I'm not sure if this will help, since you seem to be into hardware but the Epic Verb free plugin has gotten rave reviews. (not sure if it's available for mac though)

I have the Eventide Space. It is gorgeous and crazy, but it's also got a big emphasis on "big sounds". If you're looking for something more pedal-y than rack-y how about an EHX Cathedral? That's a pretty solid reverb unit for half the cost.

I'm not opposed to software, and I love free things. I'll look into that. Thanks for the suggestion!

Gorgeous and crazy "big sounds" doesn't make me want it less. :)

The EHX Cathedral is new to me, but I like the price. I'll have to give that a listen. Thanks for the suggestion.

I think I found a Cathedral used on Reverb.com for about $120-130.

Korg MDE-X plugin has all the reverb you could possibly want. The Legacy collection is very much worth the investment.

Thanks for the suggestions! It looks like I have more research ahead of me. I'll let you guys know where I land, and will definitely share my thoughts on whatever I end up with.

A decent Digitech Reverb should do Ya just fine. I basicly just use the reverb on My '65 Fender Twin on the left channel and Mix it with Chorus on the right Channel. Between the two gives Me a really sweet balance.

Try an EHX Cathedral, lots of great stereo reverbs, there is even a great flerb, so you don't have to buy loads to get different levels of verb'

Personally I went for the TC Hall Of Fame, similar quality, but much smaller than the Cathedral, if for you is an issue. I miss the frreze button of the Cathedral, though

If money is not an issue I would go for:

Eventide Strymon BlueSky/BigSky Neunaber Wet (stereo)

All three are in my opinion way better than the Ehx and my TC (and all three way more expensive)

Lexicon MX200 Stereo Reverb/Effects Processor

I still use My Old '65 Fender Twin Reverb Amp on the right bank and a '71 50 watt Fender Bassman Head on a 4X12 cabinet. As far a a straight up reverb pedal goes, I've never had any problems with a Boss or Digitech. Both are aces in My book depending on just how much power You're using. Best of luck and Jam On .......

ValhallaRoom is first rate. I remove reverb from vst's to add reverb from my ValhallaRoom. One of my friends owns a studio and acquired the same reverb plates used on recording of AC/DC Hells Bells and many other productions. He has them hanging in his closet but prefers to use ValhallaRoom.
