Strange source of inspiration

rough guitar mix sent through. ignore the bass through the talk wah... just giving it some goof. You can have a voc sketch tomorrow hopefully.

oh, I just emailed you back.... need a vocal to have any opinion. Its just a pop guitar lick right now

I was honestly expecting something more fiery.... like one ofthose fireballs of flames?

whats the tempo?

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

in my opinion the slowest we can go is 120

I have a drum groove built up real fast at 100ish.... I have a bass lick for a verse in Em. I don't know if it goes with terry's lyrics and melody but hey, all eh gave me was a guitar part that reminded me a little of the cars... seemed like more of a chorus too, way too happy for a verse

I was imagining a slowly tumbling fireball, not careening down a hill so much as maybe creeping up on you like... http://i.imgur.com/agWKoFc.jpg

hm. i could put my bass riff at like almost 110, but tbh I don't think of fireballs as slow, sneaky things at all.

well, its a fireball of flames

ever see backdraft?

I've got 105bpm on my little piece, no other tempo sounds right with what I have so far. I tried up and down.

gimmee an email I'll send you an mp3. its all in MIDI and samples right now because that's what I could do right this sec. I plan to keep just the drums, you lay the bass part..... then who knows.

This! Slow fireball!

And I think... without listening to any of the tracking to date, that I was focused more on the wordliness (or lack of) contained within the stupidity and redundancy of stating that the fireball was made of flames and played on a continuation of stupidity... rather than giving a nod to any physical manifestation of said glob of immolation...

I just thought the fireball of flames was Trump.... its not only a phrase at his 3rd grade reading level but its also kinda descriptive of his demagogic twitter persona and administration.

I have added a really rough 160 BPM rockabilly version called RockaFoF to googledrive... doubt the lyrics fit anymore, as the music got a lot more serious...

Just thought you guys wanted something faster and more firebally....

I dunno, I'm not tied to anything yet.... I just quick created a verse pattern that made me think fireball of flames. Its whatever.

I'm just against referencing fire, balls or fireballs of flame in a rockabilly song because, well, jerry and johnny? they own fiery lyrics of flame in that context, the comparison is inevitable no matter what your lyrics actually are. No fly zone. You probably thought of it because fireballs are so associated with rockabilly. Even modern psychobilly.... reverend Horton HEAT anyone?

Obviously never heard that tune but while reading the conversation I keep thinking of Stravinsky's Rite Of Spring.

wow, that's way over from what I was thinking but I like that.... maybe something like this:

Technically, Blixa wouldn't write a song about fireballs but would use a fireball as an instrument
